Executive Interview

With Munir Khalifa, CEO, Online Global Trip Support

Online Global Trip Support is providing a different kind of service from others in the industry, what makes this solution unique?

Innovations in Technology will continue to shape the future of aviation.  Our mission is to keep pace with the expected developments in aviation, and leverage new technology to provide a seamless trip support experience to our clients. With this mission in mind, I came up with the idea of Online Global Trip Support Ltd with the intention expressed in the brand promise that is simply to “Make the process of requesting trip support services easier”.

OGTS offers a unique online solution, with complete, one-stop aviation service for any trip.  The database has been acutely structured to deliver the support Flight Operators need, developed by some of the brightest technologists in the industry.

Flight Operators/Dispatchers are able to create service requests, identify flights, fleet information and scheduled trips all on their own user dashboard, displaying all the information required together in one place, saving time, money and hassle.  No more emails, phone calls required.

How do you see this type of online service impacting the aviation sector and MEBAA members now and in the future?

Reports are estimating that 7.3 billion passengers will travel annually through various airports in the world by 2034, which is similar to the same number of the world's population today and more than double the number of passengers nowadays.

The reports indicate that by that year, the number of commercial aircrafts will reach around 37,400 aircraft, which is almost as twice as the world’s fleet today.
Moreover, the world witnessed many changes in the business aviation field since 10 years ago. The majority of business aviation flights are operated by a broad cross-section of entities, including governments, universities, charitable organizations and private businesses.

While companies that rely on business aviation represent many different professions and locations, they all have one thing in common: the need for fast, flexible, safe, secure and cost-effective access to destinations across their country and around the world.

What factors led to the decision to launch the company at the MEBAA Show 2018?

Since MEBAA was founded in the region, the association has played a significant role in the business aviation industry, supporting strong growth in the MENA region.  MEBAA provides a valuable platform for members to address the issues affecting the business aviation community across the region and to exchange/share views about the future.

According to Mr. Alnaqbi, the Founding and Executive Chairman of MEBAA, private aviation is performing well in the region compared to other markets. Mr. Alnaqbi has quoted that private fleet registered in the region has reached about 540 aircraft, with 75% located in the region; UAE and Saudi Arabia are the largest markets in the Middle East and North Africa.

In line with other projections for the UAE, Mr. Alnaqbi has projected that the growth of the private aviation sector will double during the Expo 2020 Dubai.
In conjunction with the positioning of Dubai’s regional airports as future business aviation gateways, we recognized that MEBAA Dubai 2018 is the ideal platform to unveil OGTS and introduce the capabilities to the community. We are looking forward to meeting with other business aviation visionaries and discussing ways we can help support operators/dispatchers and private aviation owners/professionals.

OGTS is a Platinum Sponsor at this year’s MEBAA Show Dubai.  What activities are planned at the stand (#600) during the MEBAA Show?
