CEO, Lufthansa Technik Middle East FZE
In October 2011, Ziad Al Hazmi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Lufthansa Technik Middle East FZE in Dubai. With a career spanning key roles in the aviation industry, including positions at Sharjah International Airport and MTU Friedrichshafen, Ziad joined Lufthansa Technik in 1999 as the company’s representative with Saudi Arabian Airlines in Jeddah. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Senior Regional Manager Sales, overseeing Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. In this role, he was instrumental in establishing Lufthansa Technik's leadership in the Middle East. In January 2010, he assumed the position of General Manager Gulf, further solidifying the company’s presence in the region. In addition to his role at Lufthansa Technik Middle East, Ziad serves on the Board of Directors of the Middle East Business Aviation Association (MEBAA) and the Advisory Board of Emirates Aviation University. Born on June 25, 1973, Ziad earned his high school diploma from the International School of Choueifat in Sharjah, UAE, before pursuing Aeronautical Engineering at Queen Mary and Westfield College, University of London. He graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor of Engineering, completing a final year project on the design of leading edges of aircraft wings with laminar flow control and de-icing systems.
